Birth vs. Highlights

Never highlight your hair at home, but always give birth at home! You know those little kits they sell in the grocery store for dying your hair? They are designed for the general public, not for YOU specifically. They are a package that was made to work for everyone. Which is why they never turn out very good, because it just wasn't designed for your hair. When a colorist at a salon does your hair she takes into account the color of your hair, the texture, all that she can to personalize the ending result. This package of hair color you buy at the store I liken to the package you recieve from the hospital when you have a baby. It is a package for the genral public. It covers all possible problems, all things that could go wrong. They will administer all medication to baby to make sure NO baby is missed. They will start an IV just in case it is needed. They will take all precautions no matter who you are. Whereas with a homebirth your midwife will personalize your birth experience just for you. You are a healthy mom don't need an IV, well then you won't have one. You don't have a sexually transmitted disease, well then your baby doesn't need eye drops. etc. etc. etc.

Never highlight your hair at home, always give birth at home!

  1. Wanted to add something about this cute little analogy. There are certain time when a woman must have her baby in the hospital: She has a high risk pregnancy, or she is more comfortable in the hospital.
